“All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.”
—Abraham Lincoln
Background:
This year has been a particularly hard one for my family and through all of that my mom, who has had to deal with the most of it, has still kept her positive attitude, continues to put others first, and has become the most compelling symbol of strength to me. She continues to remind us through her actions as words that despite everything we are still incredibly blessed.
My mom, like many other moms out there, is the most generous person I know. She has not only given me guidance, advice, incredible life lessons, but also a wonderful example to follow. My whole life I have seen my mom volunteer for this organization or that event, donate to this drive or that cause, all while juggling a full time job and raising a family. She continues to do this year after year and says she finds her joy in bringing others joy. This is perhaps the greatest lesson she has taught me.
I don't know about your mom but my mom gives, and gives, and gives, always thinking of others before herself but when it comes time for her to get a Christmas gift all she says she needs or wants is a hug. Here in lies my dilemma; how do I fit years of gratitude, appreciation, and show her how much of a difference she makes into one hug?
Well after years of attempting to buy or make that perfect gift I have come up with an idea that could possibly begin to show her how much of a positive impact she has had not only in my life but in others....
